Longer runs, bigger fittings, and one specification decision that matters more than any other: can it be driven over?
Our drive-over uplighters are 120mm and rated for vehicle loading. A walkover fitting is not, and a car will destroy it once. If the fitting sits anywhere a wheel could reach — including the bit of lawn people cut across when turning — specify drive-over.
Bollards down a drive want to be tall enough to be seen over a car bonnet: 700mm or 900mm rather than 450mm. And watch the run length — a drive is where voltage drop bites first, so check the numbers on Sizing a Transformer and Cable or send us the distance and we'll do it.
