We ship to mainland UK only — not the Channel Islands, the Isle of Man, or outside the United Kingdom. If you need something sent further, email before ordering and we'll tell you honestly whether we can help.
Which items go on a pallet?
Complete garden lighting schemes, event and marquee rigs, post-and-festoon installations, off-grid solar systems and the larger transformers. The product page says so and the charge appears at checkout — you won't be surprised by it afterwards.
Pallet delivery is booked with you by telephone in a time window and is kerbside: the driver will not carry it round the back or into a garage. Tell us at the point of ordering if there is a narrow lane, a weight restriction, a gravel drive or no hard standing — it changes which vehicle we book.
Shopify charges one rate per shipping profile, so an order with a scheme and a pack of connectors is charged both the standard rate and the pallet rate — or, over £150, the pallet rate alone.
Spares and small parts
Connectors, clips, festoon lamps, cable and spikes go by standard post and usually arrive in two to three days. We keep them stocked all year round, including through the winter when nothing else is moving, because a scheme waiting on a nine-pound pack of connectors is a scheme that isn't finished.
Cable and reels
Cable ships on a reel and is heavy — 50 metres of 4mm² is a genuine parcel. It still goes standard unless the order also contains a pallet item.
Made to order and seasonal lead times
Some schemes, post installations and event rigs are made or assembled to order. Where that applies, the lead time is on the product page, and we keep it current rather than optimistic.
One honest seasonal warning: from March to July this category gets very busy. If you have a date — a party, a wedding, a garden opening — tell us in the first email and we will tell you straight away whether it is possible. If you are planning a scheme, order it in the winter: the lead times are shorter, and the install is easier anyway (here's why).
Damage and missing parts
- Check the outer packaging before you sign. If it's damaged, sign for it as damaged — that one word protects you.
- Report transit damage within 7 days, with photographs of the damage and the packaging.
- Missing small parts — a connector, a sleeve, a spike — email us the part name and we'll post a replacement free. You don't need to send anything back.
- Glass lamps travel well but not perfectly. If a festoon lamp arrives broken, tell us and we'll replace it; don't bother returning it.
- Keep the packaging until you've tested everything. If something has to go back, it needs to go back in the box it arrived in.
Test before you dig
Worth saying here rather than only in the instructions: connect the whole run above ground and switch it on before you bury any of it. Ten minutes on the lawn saves a day with a spade. Every scheme we sell is packed so this is possible without cutting anything to length first.
Tracking and problems
You'll get a despatch email with tracking where the carrier provides it, and a phone call for pallet deliveries. If a parcel hasn't arrived within 7 working days of despatch, email support@homartuk.com with your order number and we'll chase it. Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 the goods are our responsibility until they reach you — a lost parcel is our problem to solve, not yours.
