Solar Lighting
Eighty-eight products, and one thing we will keep saying: solar is a summer product.
From May to August a well-sited solar light is genuinely good — no cable, no transformer, no electrician, and you can move it whenever you like. From November to January it will give you a fraction of that, often under an hour of something dim. That is not a fault; it is a panel in a British winter. Every product here carries a "When to buy" note saying so.

If the light must go somewhere shady, choose a model with a separate panel on a lead. It solves more solar disappointment than any other feature.
